Bayou Country Superfest 2013 Recap

Saturday morning started off with breakfast at PJ’s.

Oat bran muffin, half a banana, and coffee for me.

The Parents and I walked around downtown for a bit before heading to the practice field to hang with Zach and company.

Zach’s good friends viagra tabs from UGA rode from Nashville to Baton Rouge on a fancy tour bus (previously Luke Bryan’s) so Darius Rucker could do a meet and greet for a radio show. Incidentally, my mother loves Darius and has long been a Hootie and the Blowfish fan, of course, her love of him has rubbed off on me.

After hanging out on the tour bus for a couple of hours leading up to the concert, we had to get off so Darius could do his meet and greet. When Darius rode up in the golf cart all my mom could say was “Oh my God, oh my God, oh my God”. Darius casually gave us a wave (!!!) before getting on the bus as we waited outside with a few other guys, hoping Pervus could score us a picture.

Then my dad walks over to where my mom and I are standing and asks who’s in the bus. We both tell him matter of faculty. So then he strolls on over to where Pervus is standing beside the door of the bus. Dad mutters something to Pervus and then bam, Darius walks out and my dad Forrest Gumps a hand shake. My mom and I just stared in awe. That little turd.

Once we got over that incident, we made our way to the concert…

Saturday night’s line up was Thompson Square, Darius Rucker, Miranda Lambert, and Lady Antebellum.

We arrived for the tail end of Thompson Square — just in time for Darius Rucker — woohoo! He was the highlight of the weekend next to Zac Brown Band and Luke Bryan (Both of whom Zach got to meet back stage. Oh, the perks of being a starting QB…:|).

Darius closed with Wagon Wheel and Lady Antebellum came out to sing it with him. It was awesome so we left on that note.

Sunday morning called for sleeping in after realizing we started too early the day before. Oops.

Church at noon and then a late lunch after.

Couldn’t leave Sophie alone in the hotel so she brunched with us also. 😉

After brunch, we took an afternoon bike ride along the levee and through campus.

No worries, we made sure to visit Mike.

He was a sleepy tiger, catching some R&R on a Sunday afternoon. I snapped a few shots of Mike before we rode back to the hotel to wash up and get ready for the night ahead.

Sunday night’s line up included Rodney Atkins, The Band Perry, Luke Bryan, and Zac Brown Band. We arrived just in time for The Band Perry and stayed until the very end. Zac Brown is one hell of a guitar player. Jimmy De Martini was incredible on the fiddle, too.

Forgive me for the less than perfect quality of my iPhone pictures. Can’t say that the environment was all that safe for my Canon.

Home atlas on this beautiful Memorial Day afternoon! As soon as I set down my bags, I remembered I was expecting mail…

Slightly Stoopid and Chris Scott over at Silverback Music sent me this package from above Cali. These guys are the real deal and if you aren’t already a Slightly Stoopid fan you better start listening. I might even let you borrow an album. 😉 Cheers to saving a shit ton of money on iTunes! Thanks again guys!

Hope your Memorial Day weekend has been a blast. A big thanks to the men and women who fight for our freedom. ‘Merica!

Wednesday Words {of wisdom} + #stoopidheadforever

Goooood evening and Happy Hump Day everyone!

You may wondering what I’m getting at with this post so let me explain…

Since my post about deciding to move forward from my disordered eating and body image issues I thought it might be pfizer mexico viagra cool to share what I’ve learned thus far during my struggles and triumphs. So to start of my Words of Wisdom, I’d like to say that this is not about “turning over a new leaf”.

Actually, it’s quite the opposite. Which brings me to my first realization:

No more turning over new leaves.

You see, every time I felt as though I had ruined my diet or workout regime I would immediately say to myself “Ok, it’s time to turn over a new leaf and get a fresh start on a new you”!

What’s so bad about that?

Well, it becomes a problem when you’re continuously having to turn over a new leaf. I ended up putting myself in a constant cycle of one extreme to the other because I was set on perfection which, in the end, only led me to failure.

I have decided that my Peachy Post will be the last leaf I’m turning over on my journey to a healthy balanced lifestyle. The point that I’m getting at is there is no such thing as perfection. Mistakes are part of life and an indulgent dessert or missed workout is not the end of the world!

Got that? Good.

(Pretend that one of those is crunchy almond butter and the other is cashew butter.)

It seems most of the morning meals ’round these parts are either Greek yogurt + fruit + granola + PB or toast + nut butters + banana slices. Just pointing that out because, if we’re being honest here, it probably won’t change for a while.

Snack Part One

A little before lunch I snacked on a handful of grapes to tide me over. It’s been a while since I’ve eaten grapes and I swear I forgot how good they are. Mmm, so sweet.

Since I’m a lazy butt and didn’t make a trip to the grocery store before lunch I was forced to throw together what I already had on hand. Thankfully, I had baby kale that was still good chillin’ in the fridge as well as a VitaPizza, frozen peas, and marinara sauce. I am aware that the combination of all of those may not sound so appealing but lemme just tell ya, it was delicious.

Snack Part Two

After lunch my snackiness struck again! Part two included a teeny tiny apple and a generous “few” yogurt covered raisins.

Today was a CrossFit kinda day so I laced up my new Reebok Sublites and headed to the box.

20 push ups
20 pass throughs
20 sit ups

10 rounds for time:
10 wall balls @ 20/14
10 burpees

Score: 18:21

If a WOD looks easy then it’s going to kick your ass. Every. Single. Time. In case you aren’t that great with numbers, 10 rounds of 10 wall balls and burpees adds up to 100 each. In other words, there will be a lot of foaming rolling going on once I’m finished with this post.

Snack Part Three

As soon as I got back to my car after CrossFit I tore open a Kashi granola bar for some refuel. You know you had a good workout when it’s difficult to eat a granola bar…

After CrossFit I finally made a trip the Publix to pick up a few things for dinner. Normally I would have made a grocery trip to stock up for a week+ considering the state my kitchen is in but I’ll be heading out of town AGAIN on Friday morning so this trip’s bounty was light.

On the menu for dinner was spring mix, roasted Brussels sprouts, Mediterranean lentil salad, and goat cheese. Oh and can’t forget the balsamic glaze!

Other Things of the Day

Whilst snacking on a handful of grapes before lunch today a Twitter notification popped up in the corner of my screen. In awe I clicked to make sure what I saw was real…

Screen Shot 2013-05-22 at 5.32.44 PM

Um, yes. Slightly Stoopid not only tweeted at me but is also aware of HNC’s existence. 😮 #stoopidheadforever

Now if only Jillian Michaels would tweet me…

As mentioned earlier, I’ll be leaving town yet again.

Turns out the fam jam (read: Mom and Dad) and I are trucking over to Baton Rouge to meet up with the cuzzo for the Bayou Country Superfest. Since I’m a Hootie fan and all (duh) I’m most excited about seeing Darius Rucker. Bonus: Wagon Wheel is one of my all time favorite songs so I’m pumped to see Darius play his cover of it live. Life is just too good.

Time to wind down with a little HGTV and foaming rolling, yo. Hope you had a great Wednesday! Nighty.

Weekend Recap: Music and Beach Style

Good evening friends! I hope you had a great weekend, whatever you had going on.

As far as my weekend went, it was incredible and I feel like it’s still going on since I don’t leave the beach until Tuesday viagra for cheap morning. No complaints there. 😉

The Hangout Fest was such a blast!

Seeing Slightly Stoopid was without a doubt the highlight of my weekend. I gave them two thumbs up and almost shed tears.

Some pictures from Friday…

My Aunt Robin and Uncle E. just so happened to be staying in the same area with some friends of their’s this weekend so I met up with my uncle Saturday morning for a run.

The only picture I have from our run is this one my uncle took of me after we finished. We ran the state park trails which has an alligator habitat along one of the trails. My mom often rides her bike on the trails and told me she saw a mama gator with a baby resting on her head [insert heart-melting aw here] the last time she was here so I was sure to look for them during my run. I ended up spotting the mama and five little baby gators in one of the ponds! Still kicking myself for not having a camera.

Annnyways. The uncle is loosely training for an upcoming 10K so he ran 6 miles while I opted for a 5 miler. We started out with a nice 8 minute/mile pace and a lot of conversation so I had to slow down on my way back.

Coffee, coconut water, Greek yogurt + Kashi GoLean Crunch + Ezekiel flax granola + blueberries + 1/2 bananner

When I got back from running I had PIAJ (parfait in a jar :)), coffee, and a ton of water. I thought I’d want coconut water but ended up putting it back in the fridge shortly after I snapped the picture. Oh, and yes I brought a jar of PB with me to the beach. Obviously.

Baby kale + leftover salmon and spinach from dinner the night before + balsamic vinegar

Before heading out to the Hangout I had a small lunch if you could call it that. But whatever it was it was delicious. Can you spy the coconut water in the corner? Thought I would drink it and ended up putting it back in the fridge…again. I will drink that darn bottle of coconut water on the beach tomorrow though! Mark my words.

Some pictures from Saturday…

As far as today goes, it has been a totally chillax day. I checked a lot of things off my To Do list and have plans of ending it with a Magnum Mini Almond bar. 😀

What’d you do this weekend?
