Spicy Basil Hummus

Hey guys!

Today marks day five of my Conscious Cleanse and I’m sticking to my guns! I’ll be posting a week one recap so stay tuned. viagra england Breakfast was a green smoothie with frozen banana and mango, blueberries, kale, romaine, goji berries, almond milk and water. Delicious.

After I gulped that down I headed to my favorite yoga class at Yoga Bliss in downtown Tuscaloosa. Good music and lavender oil is key to an awesome yoga class, so I’ve learned. (Lavender oil for shavasana, by the way.)

Ok ok. On with the purpose of the post!

Spicy Basil Hummus

Ingredients

  • 1 16 oz can garbanzo beans, reserve liquid*
  • 3 cloves garlic, finely minced
  • 1/3 c chopped fresh basil
  • 2 Tbsp extra virgin olive oil
  • 2 tsp red pepper flakes (or to taste)
  • 1 tsp salt (or to taste)
  • 1/2 tsp pepper (or to taste)

Directions

Toss everything in a food processor and pulse until smooth. *Add remaining liquid until desired consistency.

Best enjoyed with warm pita bread or carrots. Yum!

Yooo.

I had a very eventful and uneventful past week. Basically, levitra viagra online it rained for DAYS while I was home so that kept me inside for the most part.

However, I did manage to get my Fourth of July partying in the night before the actual holiday. Like I said, it rained for days and one of those days happened to be the 4th. Whomp whomp. But either way I had a great time hanging out with some of my favs.

In other (more exciting) news, my mom and I have decided to do the Conscious Cleanse together.

Here’s my lunch from today and dinner from last night in preparation for the cleanse…

Lunch was a baby spinach and arugula salad with broccoli, cucumber, black rice, sriracha, and balsamic reduction.  And last night’s meal was a southwestern soufflé with squash and okra. Oh and salsa on the side. Mmm the salsa.

I’m actually reeeally pumped for the Conscious Cleanse! All the amazing benefits it promises AND I get to eat as much as I want? Sign me uuup.

Since this has turned into a rando post I’d like to share this perfectly ripe mango that I cut today. I had half of it as a snack and it was so sweet and so delicious.

Winston has a really hard life by the way.

Wiped out! He tagged along with me to the cleaners and then to drop off some mail down town. I carried him for the most part but he did get in a few good walking attempts. Practice. Just takes some practice.

Let me just tell you, Chalene Johnson means business! Whew! This was my first time doing a Turbo Fire video since fall semester and I’m seriously wondering why I ever stopped. I swear the 45 minutes felt more like 10, my heart was racing, sweat was flowing, and I was actually having fun. Now those are my kind of workouts.

If you’ll excuse me I’m off to roast a sweet tater and some Brussels before cozying up to The Happiness Project.
