Spinach Smoothie

I know, I know. Spinach in a smoothie, I must be crazy. But let me explain…
Adding greens to smoothies has been a big thing in the health world for a while now.
I have a few family members who swear by their smoothies that contain kale and spinach and all kinds of unheard of add-ins.
So I thought I’d give it a try and let me just tell you,
My smoothie tastes exactly like it did before I added spinach.
This is a great way to get your nutrients from greens in if you don’t like the taste of them alone.
Spinach Smoothie
– 1 frozen banana, peel and slice before freezing
– 1 scoop whey protein powder
– 1 T wheat germ
– 1/2 c unsweetened vanilla almond milk
– 2 cups spinach
Blend and enjoy!

  1. Hi, can I ask what a typical workout log for you is like? Type of protein powder you use? And also, when you buy chicken/meat do you only buy the hormone-free kinds? I’m not a vegetarian, but my new place of living has NOTHING hormone free 🙁

    1. Hi Jill!

      My workout log is always changing based on how I’m feeling. I try to intuitively exercise. But, as of late, I try to get in three days of CrossFit, 2-3 runs, and then a day for resting.

      As for protein powder, I use whey protein (I’ve used Jillian Michaels’ & Earthfare Whey To Go brands both for taste and nutrition).

      Now for the meeeat! When I CAN I will buy organic, hormone-free, antibiotic-free – all that good stuff – meats. But if I absolutely can’t find it when I need it I’ll buy what the stores have. Try asking some locals if they know of any meat markets or grocery stores near by that offer hormone-free meat. Also, you could make a trip to a near by town that has a health food store and buy your meat in bulk and store it in the freezer. If none of those work maybe try online shopping for your chicken/meat, haha, that just might work!
